Yury Muravitsky

Director and playwright; head of Directing Department at the Shchukin Drama School in Moscow; winner of the Golden Mask National Theatre Award for the production of “Light My Fire” at Teatr.doc; Artistic Director of 18+ private theatre in Rostov-on-Don. Muravitsky is a keen admirer of the New Drama and has presented the works of this trend to public in the provinces: Natalia Moshina’s “Ricotu Island” in Novy Urengoi; Pavel Pryazhko’s “The Third Shift” in Lysva; Yuri Klavdiev’s rap-drama “The Ambush” in Perm; a modern play “Meisinger” with German Grekov at the Playwright and Director’s Centre in Moscow; Maria Krapivina’s “Stavanger” in Tallinn. Muravitsky’s documentary projects include “Artemyi Lebedev” in Chelovek.doc project of the Practika Theatre in Moscow and “Papa” in Rostov-on-Don. His staging of “Papapart, mamanment, mememeurt” runs at the Meyerhold Centre in Moscow.
