Marat Gatsalov
Marat Gatsalov was born in 1978. He graduated from the directing faculty at the State Institute of Theatre Art. His stagings in association with the stage designer Ksenia Peretrukhina: “The Tale of What We Can and What We Cannot” Moscow Art Theatre; “Do Not Believe” Stanislavsky Drama Theatre, Moscow; “Trash” Centre of Playwright and Directing. In association with the designer Alexei Lobanov Gatsalov staged “August: Osage County” Theatre Globus, Novosibirsk. In 2010 -2012 he worked as theatre director for the Drama Theatre, Prokopievsk, in 2012-2013 - artistic director of the Russian Theatre in Tallinn, in 2013-2016 he worked as artistic director of the Alexandrinsky Theatre, New Stage. He was the winner of the Golden Mask National Theatre Award 2013 for the production of “August: Osage County” Theatre Globus, Novosibirsk. His production of "The dragon" has been nominated for the Golden Mask 2020.
