THINGS I TOLD NOBODY

For the first time after the death of its founder the Perm troupe “Yevgeny Panfilov’s Ballet” has experienced choreography of European standard. The Dutch ballet master of Israeli extraction, Itzik Galili, presented the Panfilov dancers with one of his best works. What the choreographer told nobody with words he expresses in the fine interlacing of music and dance. Classical masterpieces are performed while on the stage – especially lit to sensually mould the dancers’ body – they display their refined plastic movements. Galili’s work distinguishes itself from other modern dance performances through its rare sense of harmony and beauty. There is never any superfluous pathos, and only a little irony: this lifebuoy of a modern intellectual opposes clichés and banality.
